FHL was established in 1997 as Bushland Helicopters Ltd and operated from the Eastern BOP, North Island, New Zealand undertaking Wild Animal Recovery with a Robinson R22. We operated throughout NZ recovering wild animals until 2003 when commercial animal recovery became unviable.
Since then we have obtained our instructors rating (B Cat) and provide training for PPL, CPL, type ratings, BFR's and our new Professional Long Line Course (PLLC).
We operate throughout the US, Canada and Mexico capturing wild animals for all forms of wildlife management reasons and the various agencies. We have gained vast experience and knowledge handling the many different species of free ranging wild animals that habitat these countries.
We have good contacts throughout the Helicopter community and have sold experience to pass on to those who want to be trained by an experienced aerial work pilot.
We currently undertake all forms of aerial work utilising various types of helicopters and contract our piloting services to other companies or individuals who require within NZ or the world.
We currently work from the Whakatane Airport operating a new Schweizer CBi under our new name Frontier Helicopters Ltd (FHL).
