Frontier Helicopters Ltd, (FHL) is a locally owned and operated helicopter company located at the Whakatane Airport, situated in the North Island of New Zealand. We specialize in all aspects of helicopter wildlife services, provide helicopter flight training instruction with experienced aerial work pilots and conduct sling training up to 250 foot with our specially designed Professional Long Line Course (PLLC).

We provide aerial solutions to Helicopter Wildlife Management issues and have worked throughout the world undertaking various tasks in diverse conditions and environments with many different agencies and individuals.

The skills base and experience of Wild Animal Management utilising Helicopters as the primary tool is very specialised and the number of professional hunter pilots skilled in this field are few and far between. Fortunately here in NZ we continue to maintain that profession ensuring this trade continues with high standards and currency of profession.

Our Flight Training is focused on the person looking to be trained by an experienced helicopter pilot first, instructor second. Apart from the basics, the benefits of training with pilots who have aerial work experience are unmatched.

We also facilitate long line training over and above the NZ CAA CPL syllabus requirements. This training is for pilots wanting to learn or improve their skill sets for their future careers by experiencing long line tuition and practice throughout our 25 hour Professional Long Line Course, (PLLC).
